4 injured in early-morning pedestrian crash: Tampa police

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Tampa Police Department is investigating a pedestrian crash that happened early Saturday morning and left four people with serious injuries.

The crash involved a 2022 Can-Am Ryker, a three-wheel motorcycle that two women were riding, and two pedestrians who were struck.

It happened at around 12:40 a.m. on Saturday at the intersection of E 7th Ave and Angel Oliva Senior St.

The two pedestrians, a man and woman, both in their late 30s, were in the street adjacent to a crosswalk when they were struck by the motorcycle.

The motorcycle then continued, striking a parked car before colliding with another car that was stopped for traffic.

TPD said the driver of the motorcycle, a woman in her early 40s, sustained serious injuries in the crash and may have been having a medical emergency before the collision. The passenger, a woman in her mid-20s, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Both pedestrians also sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries, and all parties were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

At this stage, there is no indication that impairment played a role in the crash, TPD said.
