ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A Boil Water Advisory has been issued in Overland following a water main break overnight Tuesday morning.
The water main break occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Pasteur Avenue and Midland Boulevard, involving a 20-inch pipe. The break caused water to gush in the streets and onto people’s properties.
The boil water advisory was issued around 5:05 a.m. and is expected to be in effect for approximately 48 hours, according to Missouri American Water.
Residents and businesses in the affected areas are advised to follow the boil order instructions until further notice, as repairs continue throughout the day. This includes bringing drinking and cooking water to a boil for three minutes. The water is OK for bathing, washing, and other non-consumable uses.
This is a developing story; FOX 2 will provide additional information once it comes into the newsroom.
