Bon Secours, UnitedHealthcare reach agreement to keep patients in-network

GREENVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) – Bon Secours announced Thursday that they have reached a contract agreement with UnitedHealthcare, avoiding any patient care disruptions.

The previous agreement between the two parties was set to expire after June 30.

According to Bon Secours, the two companies began negotiations in January.

The agreement, which includes higher reimbursement rates for Bon Secours, means that UnitedHealthcare customers will remain in-network for all Bon Secours hospitals, urgent care clinics, doctors, and other care locations.

“I’m proud we were able to come together and find a resolution that puts our shared priority = the communities we serve – first,” said Matt Caldwell, president of Bon Secours St. Francis in Greenville. “With this agreement, patients can continue to receive the care they need and deserve without any disruption of services.”

The company said about 30,000 customers could have been affected if no agreement had been reached.
