THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) – An affordable housing lottery in the Bronx is offering $0 if you qualify, according to a listing on NYC Housing Connect.
NYC Housing Connect lists affordable housing lotteries across the five boroughs, including information like cost of rent, amenities and more. This affordable housing lottery is for the Fischer Senior Apartments, which are located at 97 W 169th St.
The income requirements for the 25 available one-bedroom units are as follows:
- 1-person household: $0 – $56,700
- 2-person household: $0 – $64,800
- 3-person household: $0 – $72,900
There must be at least one person in your household at least 62 years old or older to be eligible for one of the units, according to the listing.
In order to get $0 rent, you have to qualify for Section 8 housing and cannot be making any income. If you are making money, then your rent will cost 30% of your yearly income.
The amenities include on-site caregivers who will help residents with activities, meal prep and more, along with building staff who can assist with health care, finances and paying rent.
Electricity is not included in the rent. The lottery ends on Aug. 25.
