At the scene, deputies found the bodies of 9-year-old Samantha Samarel, 45-year-old Lina Maria Samarel and 54-year-old Richard Samarel.

All three, investigators added, are believed to have died between 10:20 a.m. and 11:29 a.m.

According to the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office, the deaths were a double-murder suicide.

Lina and Samantha’s deaths were ruled homicides, while Richard’s death was ruled a suicide. All family members were shot in the head, the coroner added.
