SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) — Investigators have shared the cause of death of three people who were found dead in a home in March.
The deaths occurred on March 28, at a home on Marilyn Perry Lane off of Reidville Road. Deputies said they arrived at the home around 11:30 a.m.
At the scene, deputies found the bodies of 9-year-old Samantha Samarel, 45-year-old Lina Maria Samarel and 54-year-old Richard Samarel.
All three, investigators added, are believed to have died between 10:20 a.m. and 11:29 a.m.
According to the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office, the deaths were a double-murder suicide.
Lina and Samantha’s deaths were ruled homicides, while Richard’s death was ruled a suicide. All family members were shot in the head, the coroner added.
Other residents of the home were in school at the time, according to deputies.
