SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Crews with San Diego Fire-Rescue responded to a vegetation fire near the Los Peñasquitos Ranch House in on Sunday afternoon.
Firefighters were on the scene in Rancho Peñasquitos around 1 p.m. with FOX 5/KUSI crews seeing multiple fire engines, as well as San Diego Police vehicles in the area.

Around 2:20 p.m., a spokesperson with San Diego Fire-Rescue confirmed that the fire’s forward rate of spread had been stopped. The blaze reached approximately 1.5 acres before being halted.

No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported in connection to this incident.
The San Diego Fire-Rescue spokesperson said the department has seen more fire activity recently as temperatures rise during the summer season. She encouraged residents to consider incidents like this as a reminder to talk about family emergency plans.
