Extreme heat warning goes in effect in NYC today: NWS

NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) – An extreme heat warning is in effect for Sunday in New York City, according to the National Weather Service. 

The warning starts at 12 p.m. Sunday and lasts through 8 p.m. Tuesday, officials said. It covers all five boroughs.

Feels-like temperatures could reach 107, according to the National Weather Service. According to AccuWeather, the city should expect a high of 92 degrees Sunday, followed by 96-degree highs on Monday.

Whenever possible, New Yorkers should do all strenuous outdoor activities in the morning or late evening. Wearl light weight and loose clothing and drink lots of water, according to NWS.
