(KRON) — BART experienced a temporary disruption Friday morning in the East Bay. All service was stopped at the West Oakland station due to a fire near the trackway, officials said. Service resumed around 6:53 a.m.
“BART service has stopped at West Oakland in all directions due to a fire affecting the trackway near West Oakland station,” BART wrote in a service advisory at 6:36 a.m.
In an update, BART officials said the Oakland Fire Department responded and extinguished the flames. Track inspections were completed before regular service resumed, according to the transit district.

No further details on the fire were immediately provided.
