KAYSVILLE, Utah (ABC4) — Crews responded to a brush fire burning in the Great Salt Lake wetlands near Kaysville that started as a result of a lightning strike.
According to the Kaysville Fire Department, the fire started approximately one mile from the nearest road, where there is no vehicle access. Due to its remote location, there is no threat to structures currently.
As of 7pm, Kaysville Fire Department has cleared the scene, and the U.S. Forest Service has taken over with both ground and air services. The fire is slow moving and is unlikely to threaten any structures.
This is one of several brush fires that have started in Davis County recently. Utah Fire Info announced that another fire, named Duck Club Fire, started on state lands in Davis County and has reached 5 acres. No evacuations are in place and no structures are threatened by that fire at this time. They have determined it have been caused by lightning
