FISHERS, Ind. — A 21-year-old man has been arrested after the Fishers Police Department responded to a report of a shooting that occurred near State Road 37 Saturday afternoon.
According to a press release written by officials at the Fishers Police Department, the suspect, Giovanny Javier De Jesus De Jesus of Anderson, was described by witnesses and fled the scene before officers arrived.

De Jesus was the victim’s ex-boyfriend and the father of the infant.
When officers arrived, they found a female victim who had been shot multiple times. The victim was holding an infant.

Officers immediately provided aid to the victims until EMS arrived and transported them to the local hospital. The victim went into surgery and is reported to be recovering and in stable condition. The infant being held by the victim is reported to have sustained minor abrasions.
While the police were searching for De Jesus, he turned himself in to the Decatur Police Department around 11 p.m. on Saturday. He was transported directly to the Hamilton County jail.
He has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of aggravated battery, one count of intimidation with a deadly weapon, two counts of pointing a firearm and one count of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon.
