Kansas City Chiefs WR Rashee Rice sentenced in 2024 high-speed crash: Report

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Dallas County, Texas judge has sentenced Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice for his role in a multi-car crash in March 2024, according to a report from NFL Insider Adam Schefter on Thursday.

Rice was sentenced to five years of probation and 30 days of jail time for involvement in the six-car crash in Dallas, which occurred on March 30, 2024. The jail time can be served during any of those five years.

Now that the judge has sentenced Rice, the NFL can expedite its disciplinary process. Schefter said Rice is likely to receive a multi-game suspension in the upcoming NFL season.

Rice and his former SMU teammate, Theodore Knox, faced up to eight criminal charges for the high-speed crash.

Four others were hurt after Rice and Knox lost control while speeding in luxury vehicles, according to police, and fled the scene. Rice turned himself in to police about two weeks later, following an arrest warrant. Some crash victims have since filed civil lawsuits against both men.
