Firefighters are battling fireworks-related fires at three residential homes in Pacoima, officials with the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
Crews responded to reports of the fires in the area of 12933 Corcoran Street just after 9 p.m., a community near the 118 Freeway and 2 Freeway interchange.

Officials said that there were active fireworks explosions that were exposing other nearby homes and brush in the area. By 9:30, LAFD had declared the incident a “major emergency” and deployed more than 100 firefighters.
At least one victim, a female, was being rushed to the hospital in critical condition. There are also preliminary reports suggesting two other people suffered smoke inhalation injuries, though the fire department has yet to confirm that information.
Sky5 is overhead.
