BEVERLY HILLS, Fla. (WFLA) — A man has been charged with attempted murder after a shooting in Beverly Hills late Saturday night, the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies responded to a home on North Washington Street at around 10:40 p.m. after reports that a man had been shot multiple times.
They arrived to find two victims, a woman who was in the home at the time of the attack and the man who had been shot, CCSO said.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the woman was exiting the residence when the suspect, 20-year-old Elijah Foster, pointed a gun at her and forced her into the home. He then went to the back of the house and shot the male victim multiple times in the neck, arm, hand and groin.
Despite his multiple gunshot wounds, the victim was able to flee to a nearby residence and ask for help. He was airlifted to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Both victims identified Foster as the suspect, and he was arrested and taken into custody without incident, CCSO said.
Foster was charged with attempted first-degree murder with a firearm, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and home invasion with a firearm.
