PHILADELPHIA (WPHL) — Miles Pfeffer, the man charged with killing Temple University Police Sergeant Christopher Fitzgerald, was found guilty by a jury on Wednesday.
According to court documents, Pfeffer was found guilty of first degree murder of a law enforcement officer, firearms violations, and other charges. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, plus 22.5 to 45 years.

Miles Pfeffer was accused of murdering Officer Christopher Fitzgerald in February 2023 near Temple University’s campus. Investigators say Pfeffer, who was 18 at the time, was running away from Fitzgerald. When the officer caught up to him, they fought, and Pfeffer pulled out a gun and shot Fitzgerald six times. Pfeffer was arrested the next morning at his mother’s home in Buckingham Township.
