According to the Farifield Fire Department, firefighters responded to the area of Kolob Drive for a reported fire in the backyard of a residence just after midnight. When crews arrived a couple of minutes later, they found a fire in a large detached structure in the backyard of 1793 Burbank Court that had spread to the fence and trees between the Burbank address and 1903 Kolob Drive.

After controlling the fire, FFD personnel found a civilian was injured in the detached structure, FFD said. The patient was removed from the structure, and emergency medical care was initiated by fire paramedics.

The patient was then transported from the scene to a local trauma center by Medic Ambulance with the help of FFD personnel, officials said.

FFD said the damage from the fire is estimated at $200,000, and the cause and origin are under investigation.

The Italian Cypress trees that were involved in the fire actively cast members downwind of the incident into many properties, causing FFD units to check and confirm there was no extension beyond the two involved properties.

At this time, no other injuries to responders and civilians have been reported.
