Preview inside Patrick Mahomes & Travis Kelce’s new steakhouse 1587 Prime

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — FOX4 cameras got a behind-the-scenes preview of Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce’s new restaurant on Tuesday. It’s set to open later this year.

1587 Prime is still under construction at the base of the Loews Hotel at Truman Road and Baltimore Avenue.

The Kansas City Chiefs stars are partnering with Noble 33, a hospitality group that has restaurants in L.A., New York and London.

Walking inside the two floors of 1587 Prime you can start to get a glimpse of the fine dining experience they hope to create in the 10,000 square foot steakhouse.

The company’s director of hospitality said Mahomes and Kelce are not just passive investors putting their names on the project.

“We recently had a food tasting with both of them where they got to try a lot of the food dishes we want to put on the menu,” Noble 33 Director of Hospitality Sacha Tanha said. “They gave us great feedback. It was very productive, it was very effective and you know we took some of their advice and we’re making our own little tweaks and adjustments to it to bring it back to that point that they feel like it’s best.”

Tanha said the idea for a restaurant came after the Chiefs icons visited some of their restaurants in L.A., New York and London.

“When this opportunity presented itself it pretty much was in alignment of all parties thinking this is a great idea and what better place to do that than where they live in Kansas City,” Tanha added.

The restaurant plans a bar with custom wine selections and a world class kitchen. A carefully curated modern American cuisine menu is still in progress with Mahomes and Kelce doing taste testings. 1587 will have multiple private dining rooms.

“You might see Patrick and Travis one night having dinner, other teammates coaches, people who work at Arrowhead,” Tanha said. “People who work here in the neighborhood, that’s going to be what’s the heart and soul of this restaurant.”

While you likely won’t see a lot of Chiefs red or jerseys plastered on the wall. The logo of the KC restaurant is a wolf, the green meant to mirror that of a football field. Other signature elements of number 15 and 87 will be up to first customers to find.

“When it comes to the football component there’s going to be the very subtle nods in the design of the restaurant, there’s obviously going to be the heart and soul of the restaurant with Patrick and Travis being involved in it and some place where people who love football and the Kansas City Chiefs feel like they can come and be at home,” Tanha said.

1587 Prime is expected to open later this summer just head of the 2025 NFL season.
