CLEVELAND (WJW) – A Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court official told the FOX 8 I-Team that a judge is expected to issue a ruling soon in one of the court cases involving the Browns and the city of Cleveland.
The decision could come as early as Friday.
Last month, Judge Lauren Moore heard arguments from the Browns and the city of Cleveland on whether an argument on the Modell Law should be heard in her courtroom or in federal court.
The city of Cleveland filed a lawsuit against the Browns in January, saying the Modell Law restricts a sports team from moving.
Since that time, state lawmakers made a change in the Modell Law that now allows sports teams to move as long as they stay in Ohio.
