AUSTIN (KXAN) — Social media influencer Brian “Liver King” Johnson has been released from jail after he was arrested by the Austin Police Department Tuesday evening, according to the Travis County Court Portal.
Johnson currently faces a terroristic threat charge after he allegedly “made threats against Joe Rogan on his Instagram profile,” Austin Police confirmed.
Records show that Johnson’s bond was set at $20,000. He was ordered to not contact and stay 200 yards away from the alleged victim and family members — including the residence and places of business, according to the records.
Per the terms of his release, Johnson was also ordered to have mental health supervision and a mental health evaluation within one week from his release, records detailed.
The influencer has since bonded out of jail and was actively posting on his Instagram account. Johnson was also seen walking around near the Texas State Capitol on Wednesday, per the social media posts.
In an Instagram video Johnson posted on June 23, he said, “Joe Rogan, I’m calling you out, my name’s Liver King. Man to man, I’m picking a fight with you. I have no training in Jiu-jitsu; you’re a black belt, you should dismantle me. But I’m picking a fight with you. Your rules, I’ll come to you, whenever you’re ready.”
According to APD, “detectives contacted Mr. Rogan, who stated he had never had any interaction with Johnson and considered the posts to be threatening.”
Police located Johnson at the Four Seasons Hotel downtown around 6 p.m. Tuesday and took him into custody. An additional Instagram video posted around 7:30 p.m. shows who appears to be Johnson wearing a burgundy hoody and pants handcuffed, getting into a police vehicle.
Attorney information is not currently listed for Johnson.
The police department said this is an ongoing investigation.
