PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — An officer-involved shooting in Columbia County left one person dead and officers unharmed, the sheriff’s office said late Sunday afternoon.
A heavy police presence has roads blocked in Deer Island, Oregon following the shooting, authorities said.
Canaan Road from Deer Island Heights Road to Merrill Creek Road is closed while the investigation is underway, officials said.
The Oregon State Police Major Crimes Team is now on the case, Sheriff Brian Pixley told KOIN 6 News. No other information is available at this time.
