CRAWFORD COUNTY, Mo. – A teenager drowned in the Meramec River on Friday evening in Crawford County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
MSHP reports the victim was a 17-year-old boy from Sullivan, Missouri.
The victim drowned around 7 p.m. Friday near the Blue Springs Conservation Access point of the Meramec River.
Investigators say the victim was swimming, became fatigued and was pulled underneath the water by an undercurrent before he was found deceased.
MSHP Troop C, which covers much of the St. Louis region, is investigating the drowning.
