KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Police Department says that two people are dead after a shooting in Kansas City, Missouri on Sunday afternoon.
Officers were called to a convenience store at the intersection of Truman Ave. and Brooklyn St. around 1:15 p.m., according to reports. Inside the store, they found two unresponsive adult men suffering from gunshot wounds.
Those officers then began to render aid to the victims until EMS could respond. However, when EMS arrived, both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
While there was a suspect at the scene who was taken into custody, KCPD says that, at this time, there is no information regarding the nature or what led to the shooting. They are currently not looking for any additional suspects.
Detectives have now taken over the scene to search for evidence and speak with witnesses. The homicide is still under investigation.
