WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The Commanders revealed their new uniforms Wednesday to pay tribute to their “Super Bowl Era.” The alternate uniforms will reflect the iconic look of the uniforms worn during the team’s Super Bowl wins in the 1980s and 1990s.
The white uniforms will have burgundy numbers with gold outlines and gold stripes on the sleeves, with the players’ nameplates in burgundy letters. Players will also wear gold face masks and helmets with the white and gold stripes.
According to the Commanders’ website, the goal of the new uniforms is to bring back the feeling of those historical moments and special memories, while embodying the culture of excellence. The nostalgic uniforms will make an appearance three times throughout the 2025 season, the first being on Nov. 2 during the team’s match against the Seattle Seahawks.
They will also be worn in week 13 against the Denver Broncos on Nov. 30 and in week 17 against the Dallas Cowboys.
Fans can purchase officially licensed Super Bowl Era jerseys in early September. Fanatics also launched its “notify me” feature for fans to receive alerts when jerseys become available. The launch will continue on a rolling basis, but in the meantime, fans can visit Store.Commanders.com.
