Ukraine has launched a drone attack on a major Russian logistics center, destroying 10,000 first person view drones and 10 pieces of equipment belonging to the Russian army. Video footage shared in social media shows how Ukrainian drones break into the warehouse where the drones and military equipment were stored. Yet another video captures the aftermath of the attack in the logistic center, where the Russian military equipment was disabled as a result of the strikes. The Ukrainian attack was launched with an FPV model with a 50-kilometer fiber-optic cable. FPV drones are equipped with an onboard camera that streams live video, allowing pilots to see from drone’s perspective in real time. Since Russia’s full-fledged invasion in February 2022, Ukraine has relied on cost efficient and small drones, particularly FPV drones for striking military infrastructure, oil depots, and logistics hubs deep inside Russian territory and in occupied parts of Ukraine. These systems, often domestically produced, reflect a shift toward asymmetric deep-strike capability. Ukraine has also used maritime drones to challenge Russian naval forces in the Black Sea. Explosive-laden uncrewed surface vessels have struck ships and port facilities associated with the Black Sea Fleet, contributing to the relocation of major fleet elements away from the Russian-annexed Crimea Peninsula.
