On April 11, as part of another prisoner exchange, 182 Ukrainian prisoners were returned. This was reported by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on his Telegram channel. More than half of those released were captured during the defense of Mariupol. Others were taken prisoner during battles at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, as well as in the regions of Donetsk Oblast, Luhansk Oblast, Kharkiv Oblast, Kherson Oblast, Zaporizhzhia Oblast, Sumy Oblast, Kyiv Oblast, and in the Kursk direction. The youngest of the released prisoners is 22 years old, while the oldest is 63, and some of them are wounded. Among them are 25 officers whom Russia had long refused to release. Most of those freed had been in captivity since 2022. In addition, 7 civilians captured in the early days of the war were also returned. Ukraine, for its part, handed back 175 Russian prisoners of war.
