Azawad Rebels Attacked Bayraktar Drone Control Center in Mali With FPV Drone

In Mali, fighters from the Azawad Liberation Front attacked a Bayraktar TB2 drone control center operated by the junta in the Tessalit area.

According to the War Noir analytical channel, the attack was carried out using at least one kamikaze drone.

For this purpose, the FPV drone was equipped with an anti-tank projectile from an RPG-7.

The attack damaged equipment that supported the operation of Turkish Bayraktar TB2 drones, which are actively used by the Malian army.

In 2022, Mali became the fifth country in West Africa to purchase the Bayraktar TB2 from the Turkish company Baykar.

The attack on the facility in Tessalit was yet another confirmation of the Azawad Liberation Front’s ability to use modern methods of warfare.

In June, Azawad rebels struck Russian ‘Africa Corps’ mercenaries and Malian military junta forces with a kamikaze drone.
