Confusion over U.S. troop pullout from Poland makes Russia happy | Robert Pszczel

Amid uncertainty over continued U.S. troop presence in Europe and growing tensions between Washington and its other NATO allies, concerns have emerged about how mixed signals might affect alliance unity and deterrence. Could internal confusion weaken NATO’s credibility in the eyes of its adversaries?

“NATO is ready, Poland is ready, and Russia and any other country should be [in] no doubt that we will be able to defend our territory,” Robert Pszczel, Senior Fellow at Center for Eastern Studies, told TVP World, but added that “We should not give even a hint of the fact that somehow we are weakened by those sorts of intra-alliance… disputes or… confusions because that would perhaps give some really wrong ideas to our adversaries that should not be allowed to happen.”

How will NATO manage shifting U.S. commitments? Can Europe increase its defense role without weakening deterrence? And what impact could uncertainty have on Europe’s continued support for Ukraine?

Join our host Benjamin Lee and his guest, as they explore NATO cohesion, transatlantic tensions, and evolving European security.
