Cyber Activists Hack Rosatom, Obtain Data on Iran Cooperation

Cyber activists from CyberLegion hacked the systems of the Russian corporation Rosatom and accessed a range of confidential materials.

The Freedom of Russia Legion announced that it obtained more than 300 gigabytes of internal documents.

The files include technical, production, and contractual documentation on equipment supplied for nuclear power plants.

Materials detail:

  • Specifications and technical requirements for critical equipment at the Bushehr NPP, including installation locations, exact nomenclature, tight delivery schedules, and instructions to “indicate the minimum possible time.”
  • Large Excel spreadsheets with production plans and orders for multiple nuclear power plants, including Belorusskaya, Kursk, Kalininskaya, Smolenskaya, Tianwan (China), Kudankulam (India), and other projects.
  • Official letters and acts on JSC Atomstroyexport letterhead, Rosatom’s engineering division.
  • Incoming inspection certificates, shipping documentation, and supplier lists, including Ekoton-Rus.

The documents suggest Rosatom accelerated the delivery of critical equipment specifically for the Bushehr NPP.

Rosatom is also evacuating employees from Iran. A group of 175 staff flew from Yerevan to Moscow on a special flight. Buses transporting personnel departed just 20 minutes after a strike near the Bushehr NPP.
“We believe the leak and mass evacuation are directly connected. The documents show how heavily Rosatom invested in Iran’s nuclear project, and current events reveal how quickly the project came under threat,” the unit said.
