Drones Attack Lukoil Oil Refinery in Russia’s Volgograd

On the night of November 5 to 6, Ukrainian drones attacked the Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka oil refinery in Russia’s Volgograd.

Local residents on social media reported a fire at the facility and that Russian air defense systems were active.

Andrey Bocharov, the region’s governor, also confirmed that a fire had broken out in the area where the refinery is located.

He reported a massive drone attack on the territory of the Volgograd region, which Russian air defense repelled overnight.

“As a result of falling debris, a fire broke out in the industrial zone of the Krasnoarmeysky district. Fire services promptly started extinguishing it. Specialists from emergency services and municipal authorities are working to assess the damage and eliminate the consequences,” Bocharov wrote in his Telegram channel.

The Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka oil refinery is located in the Krasnoarmeysky district. Ukrainian drones have repeatedly attacked this Russian facility.

In particular, on the night of September 18, 2025, the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine hit this refinery, suspending its operations.

According to open sources, before the start of the Russian-Ukrainian war, Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka had the capacity to process 15.7 million tons of oil annually. This accounted for 5.6% of Russia’s oil refining.
