Drones Strike Hub Station in Volgograd Region

Strike drones attacked a railroad junction in the city of Petrov, the Volgograd region, 350 km from the state border of Ukraine.

This was reported by Astra.

The strike hit the railway station, which also houses a locomotive depot that repairs and maintains rolling stock.

The drone explosion damaged the station’s infrastructure. At the same time, the governor of the region said that the damage and fire were caused by falling debris.

It is worth noting that the junction is part of the Volga Railroad and is located at the crossroads of two key routes – Saratov ↔ Volgograd and Tambov ↔ Kamyshyn.

It is of strategic importance for the transportation of both civilian and military personnel, primarily equipment from remote areas of Russia, which it uses to replenish its units in Ukraine.

Earlier, Militarnyi reported that the Special Operations Forces of Ukraine had hit a Russian rolling stock with fuel and lubricants near the Dzhankoy railway station in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

This strike is part of a targeted effort to destroy Russia’s railroad infrastructure to impair its logistics capabilities both in Ukraine and in Russia itself. The railroad is the main fastest way to transport military equipment and fuel, and its damage could lead to problems for the Russians at the front.

In addition, in early August, the Defense Forces attacked the Tatsinskaya railway station in the Rostov region. After that, a fire broke out on its territory.

It is worth noting that the junction is located about 100 km from the state border with Ukraine and is used by the Russian army to supply military equipment and other equipment to the occupied territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

At the time of the attack, it was reported that the station had been storing fuel tanks, presumably intended for Russian units in Ukraine.

In addition, the same station was attacked on August 5th, 2025.
