205 Ukrainian prisoners of war returned home on Friday as part of a broader 2,000-prisoner swap between Russia and Ukraine brokered by U.S. President Donald Trump.
Mourners have convened around the site of Thursday’s Russian missile attack against Kyiv, which caused part of an apartment building to collapse. Among those who came to commemorate the victims of the attack were President Zelenskyy, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, foreign diplomats, as well as local residents, including children.
Ukraine has also launched strikes against Russia’s Ryazan oil refinery, as President Zelenskyy vowed to respond appropriately to Russia’s attacks.
So far, 36 countries have agreed to create a tribunal to prosecute Vladimir Putin for the crime of aggression against Ukraine.
Additionally, the former chief of staff to President Zelenskyy, Andrii Yermak, continues to receive donations towards his bail as he remains in pre-trial detention, accused of money laundering.
Ukraine Brief host Marie Kato is joined by Olena Halushka, co-founder of the International Center for Ukrainian Victory, to discuss Russia’s ongoing attacks on Ukraine, international efforts to establish a tribunal to prosecute Russia’s leadership, including Vladimir Putin for the crime of aggression, as well as Ukraine’s internal anti-corruption investigation involving President Zelenskyy’s former chief of staff, Andrii Yermak.
