Antti Häkkänen, the Finnish Minister of Defense, confirmed that Finland is joining NATO’s PURL (Priority Urgent Request List) initiative, under which Ukraine receives weapons and military equipment from the United States.
Häkkänen shared this information with journalists after arriving at a meeting in Brussels, as reported by Yle.
During the interview, he stated that providing Ukraine with critical U.S. weapons is a priority.
The PURL initiative enables NATO member countries to purchase military equipment for Ukraine in regular packages worth approximately $ 500 million each. Ukraine compiles a list of weapons it deems most necessary. The Minister of Defense did not disclose the amount Finland will allocate for participation in the project.

Militarnyi previously reported that Slovenia has also joined the PURL (Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List) program – an initiative that involves the purchase of American weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, funded by NATO countries.
PURL
The PURL initiative was launched through an agreement between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, U.S. President Donald Trump, and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. The mechanism allows NATO member countries and partners to fund the supply of American weapons and technologies to Ukraine through voluntary contributions.
Within the program, a priority list of required weapons and ammunition is formed based on Ukrainian requests, which have been agreed upon with the Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR). New aid packages will be announced on a regular basis. NATO will coordinate the deliveries, including through the NSATU (NATO Security Assistance and Training to Ukraine) mechanism.
