Fire Breaks Out at Tikhoretsk Oil Depot Following Drone Attack

A fire broke out at an oil depot in Tikhoretsk, Krasnodar Krai, as a result of an attack by Ukrainian drones.

This was reported by the official Telegram page of the Krasnodar Krai Operational Headquarters.

The attack occurred on the night of April 17–18, 2026. Official sources reported that a fire broke out at the oil depot at 1:17 a.m.

Meanwhile, NASA’s FIRMS monitoring service detected the fire at 2:01 a.m.

The size of the fire has not been reported; however, the operational headquarters’ official statement noted that 224 personnel and 56 pieces of equipment are involved in extinguishing the fire.

It is worth noting that the oil depot in Tikhoretsk is under active attack by Ukrainian drones. However, this is the first attack on it in April.

The oil depot is part of the Tikhoretsk oil hub—a strategically important transshipment point in southern Russia. The facility is managed by the company Tikhoretsk-Nafta, which is controlled by PJSC Transneft.

Earlier, Militarnyi reported that on March 15, 2026, Ukrainian strike drones attacked the oil transshipment depot in Tikhoretsk, Russia, in the Krasnodar Krai, for the second time in four days. Prior to that, the depot was attacked on March 12.
