A regional train traveling from Goppenstein to Hohtenn derailed shortly after 7 am, with an avalanche believed to have crossed the tracks moments earlier. Twenty-nine people were on board. One passenger was taken to the hospital in Sion, while four others were treated at the scene. All passengers were safely evacuated. Authorities have launched an investigation.
