German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said there is strong potential for cooperation with Ukraine on developing long-range precision weapons.
According to Hartpunkt, he noted that Ukraine’s defense industry has significantly accelerated its innovation and development in recent years, largely due to its wartime experience against Russia. In some areas, he added, Ukraine is already ahead of Germany.
The Minister made this statement at a press conference following a roundtable on German-Ukrainian cooperation in the field of security and defense.
Pistorius emphasized that Germany is working to build a strategic partnership with Ukraine that will benefit both sides.

He also said Germany will expand the number of military attachés at its embassy in Kyiv to strengthen cooperation on weapons and defense matters.
According to Pistorius, both sides plan to identify additional technology areas and flagship projects for joint research, development, and arms production.
Beyond drones, he highlighted strong prospects for cooperation in long-range precision strike capabilities (Deep Precision Strike) at distances exceeding 500 kilometers.
He added that there is “significant potential for cooperation” between German and Ukrainian companies in this area.
Pistorius also reported progress in cooperation on data sharing, including the exchange of digital battlefield information.
Meanwhile, Katherina Reiche, Germany’s Minister for Economic Affairs, announced the creation of a dedicated contact point for German companies interested in working with Ukraine.

It is worth noting that Ukrainian instructors with combat experience have arrived in Germany to train Bundeswehr units in modern warfare.
