The Lasar’s Group special unit of Ukraine’s National Guard destroyed a Russian R-330Zh Zhitel electronic warfare system in the Kharkiv region.
The unit shared a video of the strike on its official Telegram page.
A bomber drone hit the target, delivering accurate payload drops that disabled both the system and its jamming antennas.
The troops also destroyed a command-and-staff vehicle.
The R-330Zh Zhitel is a Russian mobile electronic warfare system used to detect, intercept, and jam satellite, cellular, and radio communications.
Its main purpose is to disrupt the operations of enemy command-and-control systems, drones, and reconnaissance assets by creating wide-area radio interference.
The system is mounted on a KamAZ truck chassis. The Zhitel can operate independently or in coordination with other electronic warfare systems, forming a multi-layered electronic suppression network.
Its equipment allows it to determine the coordinates of signal sources, including satellite communication stations, mobile network base towers, and drone control points.
The system’s effective range is estimated at tens of kilometers – under favorable conditions, it can disrupt communications within a radius of up to 30 kilometers. The Zhitel is capable of jamming GPS, Inmarsat, Thuraya, and GSM cellular signals.
Since the start of the full-scale invasion, only 24 such enemy systems have been visually confirmed as destroyed or damaged.
Militarnyi previously reported that fighters from the Lasar’s Group special unit of Ukraine’s National Guard destroyed a rare Russian Palantin electronic warfare system in the Zaporizhzhia sector.
Initial strikes damaged the Palantin system, and subsequent munition drops by drone crews finished off the Russian EW system.
