The Lava Unmanned Systems Regiment, part of the 2nd Khartia Corps of the Ukrainian National Guard, carried out a fully robotized operation to eliminate Russian forces in Kupiansk.
This was reported to Militarnyi by the press service of the 2nd Khartia Corps. A video of the operation was published on the unit’s YouTube channel.
The mission was carried out by a special operations company back in February 2026, eliminating 10 occupiers who were holding a position in the city; however, it has only now become possible to report on it.
As stated by the press service, no combatants were deployed on the battlefield during the operation, but it is important to remember that behind these images stand dozens of Khartia’s personnel—planners, scouts, operators, engineers, mechanics, and signalers.
During the operation, the military used various types of drones, including the TOR-800 ground-based robotic complex equipped with six rocket-propelled UGVs, kamikaze UAVs carrying hundreds of kilograms of explosives, and strike UAVs.
“As a result of the operation, the Russian stronghold was destroyed, personnel eliminated, and the ammunition depot destroyed,” Lava Regiment reported.

Lava Regiment
The Lava drone battalion was formed within the 2nd Khartia Corps of the Ukrainian National Guard in September 2025. The unit was created to integrate the latest developments in unmanned and robotic systems, developed by Khartia and other brigades of the corps.
The battalion’s primary tasks are deep reconnaissance and precision strikes behind enemy lines. Drones will conduct target detection, fire correction, and execute localized strikes based on data received from reconnaissance systems.
The battalion will combine all areas of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) application. The unit’s arsenal consists of both fixed-wing and multirotor UAVs, as well as ground-based robotic systems. The regiment uses its own R&D laboratories for technical support and the development of new equipment models.
In early April 2026, the Lava Unmanned Systems Battalion of the 2nd Khartia Corps was expanded into a regiment. As a result, the unit plans to increase the number of strikes deep into enemy rear areas.

There are also plans to introduce autonomous combat systems to expand combat capabilities and enable automated data collection and analysis using artificial intelligence.
The Lava Regiment needs pilots, engineers, analysts, developers, radio technicians, electronic warfare operators, and drivers. You can join the regiment by filling out an application on the Khartia’s website or through the recruitment center at 3333.
