Lithuanian Armed Forces Receive First Black Hawk Helicopters

The Lithuanian Armed Forces have formally received their first two UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters within a contract signed in 2020.

Photos of the helicopters were published on the Lithuanian Armed Forces’ official Facebook page.

Lithuania purchased the UH-60M Black Hawks from the U.S. government under an agreement between the Ministry of National Defense and the U.S. Department of Defense.

The contract covered the acquisition of four helicopters, along with related equipment, spare parts, and a training, maintenance, and logistics package.

Lithuania paid €181 million for the deal, while the U.S. government contributed an additional €25 million in military aid. The U.S. Congress has also approved the potential sale of two more helicopters if required.

In 2022, it was reported that the Lithuanian UH-60s would undergo additional upgrades before delivery, although details of the modifications were not disclosed.

According to prior plans, Lithuania was expected to receive the first two fully equipped helicopters with additional systems in 2024.
