On May 7, Ukrainian Liutyi strike drones targeted a Russian oil refinery in Perm and an oil pumping station near the city.
Videos published on the Exilenova+ Telegram channel appear to show the aftermath of the attack.
Before the strike, air raid sirens were activated in the city, while Russian authorities also introduced the Kovyor emergency response plan in the region.
The footage shows thick black smoke rising from the Perm Linear Production Dispatch Station.
The facility is responsible for pumping, storing, and distributing oil through Russia’s main pipeline system in the area.
The facility belongs to the Transneft oil pipeline company. According to the footage, at least one storage tank on the station’s premises caught fire.
Data from NASA’s FIRMS satellite monitoring system also confirmed the fire at the facility.
In addition, the strike likely targeted Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez, one of Russia’s largest oil refineries, which processes more than 13 million tons of crude oil each year.
The refinery produces a wide range of petroleum products, including high-octane gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, and lubricants. The plant also processes associated petroleum gas.
The oil refinery is a key industrial facility in the region and one of the most technologically advanced in Russia, supplying fuel to both the domestic market and export destinations.
Authorities in Perm Krai confirmed today’s drone attack but did not specify which industrial facilities were hit.
Previous strikes on oil refineries and LPDS facilities
Ukrainian drones already targeted the Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez refinery on the morning of April 30. The Perm LPDS was also attacked twice – on April 29 and again on April 30.
The operations were conducted by fighters from the SSU’s Alpha Group. The targets are located more than 1,500 kilometers from Ukraine.
