At least three people have been injured during a brawl involving migrants in Russian capital Moscow, a local Telgram channel reported on Saturday. Migrants started a fight using shovels and sticks near the Prokshino residential complex in Moscow. According to the report, a crowd of migrants was fighting with shovels and with the road signs. Police, the National Guard, and ambulances have arrived at the scene of the incident. Local residents have reported dodging random attacks and hearing shouting in a “foreign language”. Some reports claim the fighting was started by migrant workers who attacked residents, however these claims have yet to be verified. At least three people were injured and a car was damaged during the violent incident. The reason for the brawl remains unknown. It should be noted that the situation with migrants has deteriorated in Russia recently, with police carrying out mass raids and detentions targeting migrants. New migration laws have facilitated the authorities’ monitoring, restriction and potential expulsion of migrants. Migrants, especially those from Central Asia, face increased harassment, profiling and potential abuse.
