Valuyki in Russia’s Belgorod region and nearby settlements came under drone attack overnight.

Local residents first reported a large fire near the railway station on social media.

The governor of the region later confirmed the incident on Telegram.

“Regarding the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ strikes on our region — in the Valuyski municipal district: the city of Valuyki, the village of Urazovo, the villages of Borki, Dvuluchne, Kazinka, Kaznacheyevka, and Kukuyevka, as well as the hamlets of Dubrovka, Konotopovka, and Leonovka, there were attacks by 34 drones, 16 of which were destroyed,” the statement reads.

Authorities confirmed damage to three private houses in the district. Fires in dry grass were also recorded on several streets of Valuyki.

Emergency services are working at the scene to deal with the aftermath.
