Railway Tracks Blown Up in Belgorod Region of Russia: Locomotive Derailed

In the Prokhorovsky district of Russia’s Belgorod region, a locomotive was derailed following an explosion caused by an explosive device planted beneath the railway track. The incident caused a delay to train services lasting approximately two and a half hours, and damage was sustained to a section of the track.

According to preliminary reports, the derailment was the result of deliberate sabotage using an explosive device. This was confirmed by the Governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, via his Telegram channel, as reported by UNN.

“In the Prokhorovsky district, a spare locomotive was derailed. According to early information, this was caused by an explosive device placed beneath the rails,” the official stated in his post.

As a result, train traffic was disrupted for two and a half hours, and the affected section of the railway line sustained damage.
