Russian strikes across Ukraine have killed at least six people over the past day. In the northern Sumy region, a drone attack left a gaping hole in an apartment building, killing residents inside.
Ukraine launched a wave of drone attacks against Russian energy infrastructure, including oil refineries in Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod and Yaroslavl regions. Some reports also suggest that Ukrainian forces struck a military target in the Russian-occupied Donetsk region.
The European Union is mulling former Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi and former German Chancellor Angela Merkel as potential candidates to represent the bloc in negotiations with Russia. This comes as U.S.-brokered peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine have stalled amid conflict in the Gulf.
