In the midst of a diplomatic storm, Turkey put an end to Vladimir Putin’s hegemony in the Black Sea. In response to Russia’s fear of a ‘Trojan Horse’ and its decision to detain a Turkish ferry in Sochi for 84 hours, Turkey responded by turning back a Russian tourist ship in the Bosphorus and launching a ‘logistical blockade’ strategy in the Black Sea.
In this video, we analyse how Turkey has become a game changer with its centuries-old geopolitical memory and modern weapons:
🔹 SHADOW FLEET TRAP: Russia’s uninsured Shadow Fleet tankers, which finance its war, now face the risk of being detained for long periods and turned back in the Bosphorus Strait under the ‘Environmental Security’ clause of the Montreux Convention. This is an execution that directly targets Russia’s petro-dollar revenues.
🔹 HISTORIC KNOCKOUT: At the 5th Crimea Platform Summit, Turkish Defence Minister Yaşar Güler, in front of more than 50 leaders, declared, ‘Crimea is not yours and never will be,’ putting an end to Moscow’s attempts to legitimise Crimea. This statement was a response to the legacy of the 1783 annexation and the 1944 genocide.
🔹 TRIPLE STRATEGIC CARD: Turkey gained energy independence through TANAP and LNG against Putin’s gas blackmail, stalled Putin with the S-400 move, and simultaneously sent Bayraktar TB2s to Ukraine, trapping Russia in its own illusion of an ally.
🔹 CRIMEA GONE: Ankara’s clear stance has given Ukraine’s military operations in Crimea full legitimacy. The retreat of Russian air assets from Crimea to the mainland is a military admission that the peninsula has effectively been lost.
Russia cannot celebrate the victory of the surrender plan it imposed on Ukraine because its own ships, its own oil, and its own economy are trapped in the Black Sea.
