In the Rostov region of the Russian Federation, employees of the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery, where a fire has been burning for the second day in a row after strikes by "good" drones, complain that they have not been paid for four months, the "Ukraine 365" reports. According to the employees of the mentioned enterprise, the general customer, JSC NZP Engineering, stopped the required payments to the contractors, as well as to ordinary workers. People had previously contacted the Governor of the Rostov Region, Yuri Slyusar, but had not received a response from this official.
Other "high" authorities did not respond to their requests either. "We have absolutely nothing to feed our families with! Children cannot go to school on September 1 – we don’t even have money for notebooks and pens , " the refinery workers complained in an interview with reporters. They also note that after another UAV attack on the plant, there was concern that management would “forget” about them altogether.
Recall, Ukrainian Defense Forces’ attacks on Russian enterprises supplying Russian occupation forces are effective and weaken Putin’s war machine. This is evidenced, in particular, by the situation at the Novoshakhtinsk Oil Refinery, which has been attacked five times since the full-scale Russian invasion. As reported by the Russian public page "VChK-OGPU" with reference to sources at the plant, this enterprise has not paid wages to workers for five months, and the latest attack , which led to a fire, has worsened the situation. The salary problems are related to delays in payments by the general customer of the enterprise, the company "NZPN Engineering", which does not transfer money to contractors. The plant employees contacted Rostov Governor Yuri Slyusar, but there was no response. The Novoshakhtinsk refinery provided 1.7% of Russia’s oil refining capacity. This plant was the first major refinery built from scratch in Russia in the last 30 years. The last attack on the plant occurred on the night of August 21. It resulted in a fire at the facility, and as of the evening of August 22, the fire had not been extinguished. The mentioned plant is far from the only enterprise in the Russian Federation where problems with wages are currently observed. As of the end of May, the total wage arrears of large enterprises increased more than threefold – to 1.66 billion rubles. Also, since the beginning of this year, more than 100 thousand Russians have been transferred to part-time employment or sent into idleness, which indicates an increase in hidden unemployment.
