“Closer than ever.” That is how the talks were described after discussions between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Kyiv says most points of a peace framework are agreed, including military issues and security guarantees with the U.S. and Europe. Further meetings are planned in the coming weeks.
And as the talks came to a close in Florida, those whose lives will be most affected by the decisions made – Ukrainian civilians – have also voiced their feelings and concerns about the outcomes of the meeting of the Presidents.
In the aftermath of the meeting, European leaders spoke to Presidents Zelenskyy and Trump. In a social media post, the French president Emmanuel Macron has announced the meeting of the Coalition of the Willing scheduled for the beginning of January in Paris. Here’s more on what he had to say.
