The Russian forces have lost a multi-purpose Mi-8 helicopter.
Russian propagandist Ilya Tumanov, who runs the Fighterbomber channel, reported this late on May 5.
He also published a black-and-white photo showing one of the aircraft in flight, belonging to the armed forces of the Russian Federation.
The propagandist wrote in his post: “May the sky be your resting place, warriors!”

Later, another propagandist, Kirill Fedorov, published a photo on his Telegram channel showing two Russian servicemen against the backdrop of a helicopter.
“Farewell, my friend! Farewell, guys! Eternal flight,” the propagandist captioned the image.

According to these reports, the Russians appear to have suffered casualties among the crew of the Mi-8 helicopter.
It is currently unknown where and under what circumstances the invaders lost their aircraft.
Russian forces have long been using helicopters, including the Mi-8, to hunt Ukrainian strike drones on their own territory and in temporarily occupied Crimea.
These helicopters can also be used for airborne assault operations, fire support for ground units, and search-and-rescue missions.
In late April, Ukrainian drones struck Russian Mi-28 and Mi-17 helicopters in the Voronezh region. This took place at a field landing site more than 150 km from the front line.
