Poland Accuses Colombian Citizen of Arson on the Orders of Russian Intelligence

Poland has accused a Colombian citizen of terrorism for setting fire to two construction warehouses in 2024 on the orders of Russian intelligence.

Defence24.pl reports on this.

Earlier, a court in the Czech Republic sentenced him to eight years in prison for similar crimes.

The man in question is a 27-year-old Colombian who is allegedly behind the arson attacks on a construction warehouse in Warsaw on May 23 last year and in Radom on May 30.

The Polish Internal Security Agency (ABW) identified him. According to Polish officials, the man was acting under the direction of Russian intelligence

The security services said that the suspect allegedly received detailed instructions via Telegram about the target of the attack and how to carry it out, including how to make a Molotov cocktail and use transport.

Polish authorities have classified the attacks as acts of terrorism, and the man faces life imprisonment.

The ABW reported that the suspect had partially pleaded guilty and provided evidence that is now being verified.

The agency also said that in June 2025, a Czech court sentenced the same Colombian to eight years in prison for setting fire to a bus depot in Prague and planning to set fire to a shopping center.

He pleaded guilty. According to the Czech Prime Minister, Russian intelligence was also involved in these actions.

Polish prosecutors formally charged the man on July 21, 2025, when he was in Prague. If convicted of the crimes in Poland, he faces 10 years to life in prison.

ABW notes that Russian special services systematically recruit citizens of Latin American countries through Telegram to conduct reconnaissance and arson. Russian-language media then used the photos and videos taken during the assignment for disinformation and propaganda.
