As reported a railway and a resource base of Russians in the city of Salsk in the Rostov region were attacked . Head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council Andriy Kovalenko says that there is a logistics hub there for the transfer of resources, fuel, ammunition and other cargo to the front in the Donetsk region, as well as to the south in the temporarily occupied Crimea and the Zaporizhia region.
Kovalenko showed a video where Russians filmed the aftermath of the strike – there was a strong fire.
Military analyst, veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war, and reserve major of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Alexey Getman noted on Radio NV that such strikes temporarily disrupt the enemy’s logistics.
According to him, the railway can be repaired quickly, but if you hit the junction distribution stations, the power supply stations for electric locomotives, then this could stop the operation of this line of communication for even a week or more.
"We are hitting stations that are close to the border line because a drone with a large amount of explosives can fly there. We must destroy Russian logistics even if the suspension of traffic is for several hours. Because this breaks the logistics schemes that Russia has built," Getman emphasized.
At the same time, he said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have difficulties with the operation of long-range drones. "We are proud that they can fly more than a thousand kilometers, but the further the drone flies, the more fuel it must have, but then it will carry less explosives," the expert explained.
According to him, the Russians have an advantage here because all the objects they attack, even in Kyiv, are relatively close to the Russian border, from where they can launch air targets.
"That’s why their Shaheds and other drones can carry more explosives, because the distances are short and they need less fuel. The military-industrial complex facilities that we must destroy in the Russian Federation are located thousands or more kilometers away, so a drone with a relatively small amount of explosives can fly there," Getman noted.
The expert noted that if Russian railway border logistics are systematically destroyed, it will have an effect. In addition, as a result of the strikes, there will be an accumulation of freight trains that are sent to the front, and it would be appropriate to launch the next Ukrainian drones there.
