Attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on two key regions of Russia – Moscow and Leningrad – could have had a certain impact on the course of the war that the Russian Federation has unleashed against Ukraine, but the chances of this are slim. This was stated on air by Anatoly Khrapchinsky, deputy general director of a company producing electronic warfare equipment and former officer of the Ukrainian Air Force.
In particular, he was asked whether Ukraine could use long-range weapons throughout its entire territory and whether moving the war to enemy territory would affect the situation.
"There is such a possibility, but, firstly, we need to actually scale up our capabilities and create conditions for Ukrainian companies, together with European companies, to combine their efforts and create technologies that will bypass Russian air defense. He noted that Russians hear their air defense systems operating, hear explosions, and this has a certain pressure on the population.
"But the main goal is not for the Russian people to suffer, but for the Russian people to begin to understand that Putin is deceiving them. And then, when the tsar is bad, then they will take some action. But we are talking about the electorate that is in the Moscow or Leningrad region… This is big business, so to speak, oligarchs," Khrapchinsky explained.
In his opinion, if every three days the Ukrainian Armed Forces launch massive strikes on the Moscow and Leningrad regions of the Russian Federation, this will exert psychological pressure.
"But I don’t really believe in this, because we know how Russians shoot themselves in the trenches, we understand that they are ready to die for this, and will they agree to any changes…? However, we must also move in this direction," Khrapchinsky believes.
Recall, recently, the Rostov region of the Russian Federation was under attack by unmanned aerial vehicles at night. In particular, the acting governor of the region, Yuri Slyusar, reported that the Russian air defense is repelling an attack on the region – drones were shot down in Novoshakhtinsk, Shakhty and Novocherkassk. According to him, the roof of the railway station buildings caught fire due to debris from the fallen drone, three people were evacuated. Also, according to Slyusar, a flower shop caught fire in this settlement.
It was also said that the work of Moscow airports Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo and Zhukovsky was suspended – Moscow Mayor Sobyanin announced that the drones that attacked the Russian capital had been shot down.
