Russia Announced Unilateral “Ceasefire” for May 8-10

Russia announced a unilateral “ceasefire” in the war with Ukraine from 12:00 a.m. on May 8 through May 10.

This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense, citing a decision by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.

The decision was timed to coincide with the celebration of Victory Day in World War II.

The Russian side called on Ukraine to support this initiative and declare a similar ceasefire on the specified dates.

Moscow is also threatening another missile strike, specifically on Kyiv, in the event of a “disruption of the celebrations.”

Russia violated the ceasefire introduced by Ukraine on the night of May 6 in response to Russia’s unilateral statement regarding a “ceasefire” on May 8-9, and continued attacks and assaults along the entire front line.

According to Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukraine has not received any official communications regarding the parameters or mechanisms for ceasing hostilities, as claimed by Russian sources.
